About Gulf Valve

Founded in June of 1967 by Sue, Joel, and Bob Hedrick,

Gulf Valve Service Company has grown from a small local supplier of safety and safety relief valve products and services to a global provider that plays a vital role in the marketplace.

Stationed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Gulf Valve Service Company has built its reputation on providing quality safety valve and safety relief valve products and services to each and every customer. Our facility sits on ten acres and consists of more than 40,000 square-feet of inventory and shop space.

My father, Bob Hedrick, has always said he does not want to be the largest in our business, but instead provide the best products and services possible to our customers. That passion has become our daily commitment and the creed we live by above all else.

Our unique company focuses solely on the sale and servicing of safety and safety relief valve products. We specialize in this line of work and do not distract ourselves with other products and services. To this end, we are the true experts and carry and service more safety relief valve products than anyone else in the United States.

My father, Bob Hedrick, has always said he does not want to be the largest in our business, but instead provide the best products and services possible to our customers. That passion has become our daily commitment and the creed we live by above all else.

Our History

Our relationship with Consolidated® valves goes back more than 76 years. My grandfather, Joel Hedrick, went to work with Manning, Maxwell and Moore right out of the Navy where he served during World War II as a boiler tender on board the ship he served. From his humble beginnings, we created lifelong careers in the power, petroleum, paper, sugar, and chemical industries, now spanning three generations of the Hedrick Family.

My dad also started his career with Manning, Maxwell and Moore and worked at the manufacturing plant for five years before moving to Baton Rouge, Louisiana and starting Gulf Valve Service Company with his father Joel. My uncle Ron Hedrick joined the company in April 1969 when he returned from Vietnam where he served our country as a member of the United States Air Force.

Our journey to Louisiana started in Tulsa, Oklahoma working for Manning, Maxwell and Moore, which was later purchased by Dresser Industries. Dresser Industries saw a need to build a new manufacturing facility and decided on moving the company outside of Alexandria, Louisiana to a small community located in Tioga, Louisiana. My family would live there until 1967 where my grandfather’s dream would become a reality as we all moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to start the next chapter in life.
